  • Keep track of what you’re planting. Use a notebook and jot down where plants are located. Once plants and flowers begin to grow, take pictures of them to put in your notebook.
  • Use an old file box to keep seed packets in order. Add file separators to organize seed packets based on season.
  • Store seeds in fall from your mature plants in spice jars. Label them and put them in a spice rack to keep them safe and organized until next year.
  • Create a simple chart for plants and flowers to record important care details about your blooms such as:
    • Species
    • Bloom times
    • Annual / Perennial
    • Pruning schedule
    • Fertilizing schedule
    • Watering schedule
    • Transfer schedule for seedlings and bulbs
  • Organize tools so that the ones used most frequently are easily accessible. Others that are used less often should be stored out of the way or in the back of your shed.
  • Always purchase gardening tools that have the capability to be hung on garage wall organizers. It will make life simpler when it comes to clean-up time. And, it’s a great way to free up valuable floor space.
